Girls in the City: Italy vs France (PARIS TRIP better late than never!)

Food, Lifestyle, Shopping

Hi everyone!

So sorry this post has been delayed ridiculously, I’ve just gone back to uni and have to write my dissertation by Christmas so I’ve been freaking out a little! But I’ve been meaning to do a little post on my trip to Paris in September and my friend Becka’s trip to Sicily, Italy.

Becka runs a fabulous website, blog and online shop focusing on vegan, vegetarian and whole foods and feeling good on the inside and being absolutly delicious at the same time! (Www.glowingkitchen.com)

This was the lovely little courtyard that our apartment was in in Paris.

First day there and we obviously had to pay a trip to Galeries Lafayette.

The lovely makeup range in Sephora exclusive. Laduree range.

These amazing pain au chocolat and croissants from a cute bakery near our apartment in Les Invalides. I made Devon go out to get them every morning.
Cute little coffee sent from the beautiful Becka in Sicily.

Traditional delicious Italian food. Italian is my favourite along with Greek food so I was quite jealous!

We visited the Louvre on the second day.

Meanwhile Becka relaxed on the beautiful Sicilian coast.

I couldn’t want to visit Laduree in Paris. I’m currently addicted to this chocolate and pistachio macarons.

I felt guilty so bought myself a healthy smoothie.

We visited the Notre Dame and Palace of Versailles. These are my two favourite places to go in Paris.

On our last night and ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY (!!!!) we went for a meal of muscles and visited the Eiffel Tower. Along with getting split up on the metro!

I’ve recently become so interested in cooking, baking and nutrition. Partly since meeting my boyfriend last summer, and since becoming an independent consultant for Arbonne.

I love experimenting and trying different recepies. This is my favourite newly found dinner that I’ve been trying.

Salmon stuffed with cream cheese, tarragon and onion, with meddeterranian vegetables (pepper and sundried tomatoes) sprinkled with tarragon flakes and drizzled with sundried tomato oil. Served with sweet potato mash.

I made this for my mum last night and she said it was one of the best things she’s ever tasted!!

Following on our meal last night we popped into STK London for my favourite martini on earth: the STK Martini of course.

I think STK has become my new fave, having been there only last Friday for my birthday as well! Im sure I’ll be back soon.

Flower Frenzy on a Sunny Sunday

Food, Lifestyle, Shopping

Happy Sunday everyone!

Paid my usual visit to Van Hage today and spent a whole three hours looking around. It was the perfect day to go, had a cream tea out in the sun and did some shopping for the garden.

Obviously I had to walk around the Pets corner too! This bunny posed for me!

I’ve been searching for ages for a nice vase or pot for my beautiful artificial flowers for my room and I came across a perfect one for just £10.99!

The Usual: Van Hage

Food, Lifestyle, Shopping

As you may have noticed from my Instagram, I LOVE Van Hage!

I’ve been coming here for the past few years as my mum gets inspiration for her own shop. I love the displays and items they have there aswell as visiting the animals at pets corner.

Selling everything from flowers to hand creams, cups and saucers to garden furniture and sweets, I always leave with something!

As we got a new glass dining table this week, today I bought 4 Paris cafe inspired placemats from my visit here which was exactly what I’ve been looking for!

Avocado Toast: Obsessed?

Food, Lifestyle

I’ve noticed the rise of avocado toast enthusiasts all over the world recently? But why?

I used to hate avocado but now I can’t get enough!! Not only is it good for you but there’s so many ways you can eat it and with so many things. I love experimenting with different types of bread, dressings and accompanying foods with my avocado!

Today I just had a simple avocado on buttered Tiger bread and a sprinkle of salt and it was the best one I’ve ever had!!

Rhubarb at Saatchi Gallery

Food, Lifestyle

On Friday morning, a friend and I made a trip to Chelsea to do some research on a new project we are working on which you will hear more about soon.

During the process however, we obviously got distracted by the beautiful weather and stopped at Rhubarb at the Saatchi Gallery on The Kings Road.

Oh well, the time was well spent and I cannot wait to go back.

Greek date night

Food, Lifestyle

Yesterday evening my boyfriend and I went to try The Real Greek at Westfield, Stratford London for the first time and I was very impressed.

Because our trip to Rhodes is fast approaching, we used the rare sunny day to get in the Greek spirit. We had Tzatziki with their AMAZING flatbreads, Greek Olives, calamari and chicken skewers.

We did a bit of shopping after which I’m sure I will be posting about my purchases in the near future!

London Bridge – Borough Market

Food, Lifestyle

Last summer my friend and I discovered Borough Market just outside London Bridge station and we were so pleased we found it. I’m quite surprised we didn’t discover it before because we are always on the look out for different new places to get amazing food and drink.

Borough market has stalls with all different unique cuisines and juices and it was amazing! We went back a few times and I can’t wait for the weather to get nicer so we can go back!

For my last night in Paris, I wore my usual coat with a grey turtle neck, camel skirt, big wooly black scarf and heeled long black boots. We went to Taverne Greque, a little Greek restaurant by the Notre Dame and had an amazing meal of Tzatziki and then Chicken Skewers. It was a 3 course meal however I couldn’t even finish 2 courses so opted out of desert. Instead, we decided to be spontaneous at 11pm and go and get an expresso by the Eiffel Tower.
